So its only been five days, but so far I'm very glad I started this blog. I've had quite a bit of fun writing it. I found myself thinking about things in a different manner as I relate to how I could blog about them. It's also helped me take a further look at myself and my life up to this point.
So far, its been pretty easy to come up with daily topics to blog about, but I know that will not always be the case. I'm sure there will be days when I have to dig really deep to come up with a topic. Some will come easy, especially if there is something interesting going on in my life at the time. Others will be require me to put a lot of work into them, and those are the ones I'm most excited about because they will challenge my abilities.
My goal is to keep the topics varied. I don't want to blog three days in a row about gaming. I feel that would lead to a stretch that some of my audience may find boring because they cannot relate. If I keep the topics changing everyday it will keep things exciting, so that is my goal. However, if I do find a good topic about which I can write a large amount, I'm not opposed to breaking it across multiple posts.
I'm also surprised by the amount of support that my friends and family have shown me in this endeavor. It's been a little overwhelming, but it does give me the courage to keep going and know that I will succeed. Knowing that people care about what I write and are actually reading it gives me the strength to keep writing it. So if you are reading this right now, you have my everlasting thanks.
Speaking of family, I certainly had an emotional moment earlier this week. My father called me out of the blue and asked me if I would be the best man at his wedding later this year. I knew he was getting married to his wonderful fiance, but I didn't know if they were planning a big wedding. I accepted without hesitation, of course. My father has always been a huge support in my life, and this is a great opportunity where I can return that support. In addition to supporting my dad as he takes this next big step in life, though, it also gives me to the opportunity to put my writing talents to good use. As the best man, I will get to write a speech for the reception. I plan on keeping it private until the actual event so I won't be posting anything on here about it until afterward. I'm very excited to do it, though.
It's been a good year so far, and I hope it only gets better. I've decided to really take steps to get more out of life this year. I'm certain this will give me several stories to post here and provide me the content I need to achieve my challenge. I have something special planned for tomorrow that I can't wait to post. I hope you like it. Until then, thanks again for taking the time to keep up with me and read this blog.

wow your Dad is getting married. Both you and Sarah will have a step-mother. I hope you have as good a relationship with her as I have with Sarah. The more people that you have in your life the more blessed you are.
